Buffett, murdoch, mandela have been recruited, the original cancer in China is also very high incide

It is the second largest cancer men worldwide, killing more than 250000 deaths a year, which makes many celebrities have the effects, including "stock god" buffett, media mogul rupert murdoch, the former US President Ronald Reagan, nelson mandela, "father" in South Africa, the former us secretary of state colin Powell, former Venezuelan President Hugo chavez, Singapore prime minister lee hsien loong, but famous Taiwan writer li ao, etc.

It's prostate cancer.
A high incidence of cancer that is easily overlooked
Some people will find that there are a lot of foreigners in the list above. Li ao is the only Chinese.
Indeed. Compared with developed countries in Europe and America, the incidence of prostate cancer in China is much lower.
In the us cancer data report 2018, the estimated incidence of prostate cancer (male) has surpassed lung cancer and colorectal cancer, ranking first.
Estimated cancer incidence in the United States for 2018

In China, the incidence of prostate cancer has increased rapidly despite the absence of lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer and esophageal cancer (the 6th most common cancer among males). In the past decade, the average annual growth rate of prostate cancer incidence in China has reached 12.07 percent.

For prostate cancer, the Chinese seem to have an ethnic advantage. In the United States, asian-americans have significantly better prostate cancer data than other ethnic groups, with low morbidity and mortality.
Unfortunately, such advantages may not be sustainable.
With the continuous development of economy, the high incidence of cancer in China is gradually transiting to the high incidence of cancer in developed countries, which is more obvious in some economically developed metropolises, such as Shanghai.
Ye dingwei, vice President of fudan university tumor hospital, once said that prostate cancer has ranked the first among urinary tumors in Shanghai. Rising life expectancy and a westernized diet and lifestyle can lead to prostate cancer, a "wealth cancer". ,

Similar to the high incidence of "fugui cancer" and thyroid cancer, has become the most common malignant tumors in Shanghai women.
Portal: the cancer rate has jumped fivefold, especially among metropolitan women
Perhaps innate racial superiority will eventually be trumped by lifestyle influences?
Prostate cancer rates are also more than three times higher in large Chinese cities than in smaller ones.

Prostate cancer is not terrible, early detection is the key
In general, prostate cancer, although unfortunate, but than lung cancer, liver cancer and other highly malignant cancer to be more fortunate. Because prostate cancer is a "lazy cancer," it progresses slowly and can be largely cured by surgery in the early stages (confined to the prostate).
This is particularly true in the United States, a large country with prostate cancer: the five-year survival rate for prostate cancer without distant metastasis is 100 percent, and the overall five-year survival rate with advanced disease is 98.2 percent. China is also doing well, with an overall figure of about 70 percent.
Such data make many men relieved, it seems that the degree of malignancy of prostate cancer is very low, a surgery can be done, there is no need to worry about it.

If only it were that simple...
In fact, prostate cancer is still a threat to Chinese men, mainly reflected in two aspects:
Not necessarily surgically
Prostate patients are mostly older men, so in the surgery also have to consider the patient's physical condition, such as whether there are serious heart and lung disease, can tolerate surgery and many other factors, rather than early can be cut.
(in addition to surgery, treatments for prostate cancer include hormone therapy, radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a therapeutic vaccine called Sipueucel T.)
Early detection rate is too low
Only 5 percent of americans are diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, and most patients don't see the grim face of advanced prostate cancer.
But in China, prostate cancer patients are not so lucky.

Professor tan wanlong, deputy director of the urology department of southern medical university nanfang hospital, has said that 60-70% of prostate cancer patients are already advanced at the time of diagnosis. This means that prostate cancer patients, who can be detected early and have a better chance of a complete cure, are in the minority in China.

When bone metastasis occurs in patients with advanced prostate cancer, bone pain, pathological fracture, spinal cord compression and other related events may occur, and even lower limb paralysis may occur. Therefore, the pain brought to patients is not much less than that of other cancers. Even in the United States, the 5-year survival rate for metastatic prostate cancer drops precipitously from 100% to 30%!

There is a world of difference between the early and late stages of prostate cancer.
The lack of a sense of early cancer screening allows many people who have had the opportunity to escape the disease to experience pain they would not otherwise have had to endure. And early screening for prostate cancer is not expensive at all.
* shengnuo tips: how to screen prostate cancer early?
1. Preliminary screening by prostate cancer-specific antigen (PSA) test and digital rectal examination, if any suspicious problems are found, further testing will be conducted.
2. Transrectal prostate ultrasound, multi-parameter mri and other imaging examinations can be used as the basis for further diagnosis.
3. Pathological biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

A new edition of screening guidelines published by the U.S. preventive medicine task force (USPSTF) in JAMA in May 2018 indicates that benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate inflammation can also lead to false-positive PSA elevation results. Therefore, attention should be paid to:
Overdiagnosis and overtreatment should be avoided, and puncture and surgery should not be performed unless necessary.
PSA screening is not recommended for men over 70.
Screening should take into account family history, race, physical condition, etc.

What factors may increase the risk of prostate cancer?
1. Clear evidence shows that:
Age: it is rare for men under 50 to develop prostate cancer as they age.
Family history of prostate cancer: men whose father, brother or son has prostate cancer have an above-average risk of developing the disease.
Height: tall men are associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer.

Weight: being overweight and obese increases the risk of developing advanced prostate cancer.
Men older than 50, or older than 45 with a family history of prostate cancer, or older than 40 with baseline PSA > 1 g/L, are at high risk and are recommended for regular physical examination.

2. Incomplete evidence shows that:
A diet high in dairy products and calcium, low plasma vitamin E or vitamin E alone, low plasma selenium, and low intake of folic acid supplements (a diet rich in folic acid may reduce the risk) may increase the risk of prostate cancer.
Quitting smoking, exercising, and good emotional management are unquestionably the keys to fighting all types of cancer, including prostate cancer.
